Mississauga is the GTA’s clearest example of subdivision-era housing at scale, vast tracts built from the 1970s through the 1990s, with a construction detail that has a direct effect on painting cost: the two-storey foyer.
Housing stock
1970s–1990s detached subdivision homes with two-storey foyers, 2000s executive housing in Churchill Meadows and Meadowvale, older lakeside stock in Port Credit, and a dense condo core around Square One.
What shapes a Mississauga quote
- 01
Two-storey foyers and open stairwells
Extremely common in Mississauga subdivisions and the biggest single line item in a local interior quote. Safe access needs scaffold or ladder jacks, not an extension ladder braced on a stair tread.
- 02
Builder-grade flat everywhere
Subdivision homes were finished in builder flat, which burnishes into a shiny patch the moment you try to wipe it. Moving to a washable matte is the single most-noticed upgrade we make in this city.
- 03
Aluminium and vinyl siding
A large share of Mississauga’s 70s and 80s stock is aluminium-sided. Chalked aluminium repaints beautifully, wash off the oxide, bond-prime, topcoat, at a fraction of re-cladding cost.

Painting in Mississauga, answered
Why does my two-storey foyer cost extra to paint?
Because reaching it safely requires scaffold or a ladder-jack system rather than a step ladder, plus the time to erect and strike it. A 20-foot stairwell wall is not simply a taller version of a bedroom wall, cutting a straight line at the ceiling from a platform takes materially longer, and doing it from an extension ladder braced against stair treads is how people get hurt. A foyer and stairwell are a meaningful line on a Mississauga quote for that reason alone.
Can you repaint aluminium siding in Mississauga?
Yes, and it is one of the best-value exterior jobs in this city given how much 1970s and 80s aluminium-sided stock there is. The chalky oxide layer washes off, a bonding primer goes down, and an acrylic topcoat follows. The result reads as new siding for roughly a fifth of the cost of re-cladding, and because aluminium does not rot, the substrate underneath is usually sound.
How much does painting cost in the GTA?
We do not publish prices, because a number quoted without seeing your walls is a guess. What decides the cost is ceiling height, how much trim you have, and the condition of the substrate, none of which can be judged from square footage. The walkthrough is free, takes about 45 minutes, and ends with a fixed written quote.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. The walkthrough takes 45 to 60 minutes, costs nothing, and carries no obligation. You receive a written finish specification within 48 hours that names every surface, its coat count, its primer decision and its sheen. We would rather you compared that document against other quotes than compared bottom-line numbers, because three painting quotes are usually three different scopes.
What areas do you serve?
The Greater Toronto Area, the City of Toronto including Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough, plus Peel, York, Durham and Halton regions. That covers Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Newmarket and Aurora. If you are inside the GTA, we quote it.
